Shah Rukh Khan Gets Relief In Raees Stampede Case; Gujarat High Court Says SRK's Acts May Have Led To People Getting Excited But They Were 'Not Acts Of Negligence'
Back in 2017, Shah Rukh Khan was caught up in huge trouble as a case was filed against the actor. During the promotions of Raees, SRK had opted to travel by train from Mumbai to Delhi. Amidst this, the actor got down at Vadodara station to greet his fans and even threw t-shirts and smiley balls at the fans. This created a huge mishap and in a stampede-like situation, a man passed away. Later, a case was filed by a resident named Jitendra Solanki in February 2017.

Now, almost after five years, the court has granted relief to the superstar in this case. Justice Kariel stated in his verdict that Shah Rukh must have provoked the people but there were no acts of a high degree of negligence.

The statement read, “The act on part of (Khan)… may have led to some of the members of the crowd getting excited but… such acts could not be stated to be consisting of a very high degree of negligence or recklessness… Furthermore, the petitioner (Khan)… being an actor was promoting his upcoming movie… none of the said act could be termed as having an element of men's rea, which is an essential element to hold negligence as being an offence.”

As per the report in Indian Express, the actor was lodged under IPC Sections 336, 337 and 338, and 304A. However, the court said,  Shah Rukh Khan's acts cannot “be stated to be acts of a very high degree of negligence or recklessness..”

Well, apart from this, some reports by the portal also state that some International cricketers had also visited the station to greet the actor, and hence a kiosk happened.
